I've been working on the 'original' guitar part of this song for a few months and have just about got it to a standard where I could play it for someone else to sing to (as I'm a lousy singer myself, and certainly can't sing and concentrate on playing at the same time!) I was wondering if it would be possible to play the melody as well as the accompaniment at the same time, then came to the conclusion that it wasn't when this video popped up in my 'Recommended to Watch' list. I've seen a few of Michael's videos on youtube before and have always been impressed, so eagerly clicked on 'Play' when I saw this one! I realise now that it's not impossible to play the melody and the accompaniment at the same time (at least, not for somebody else!) and that my 'accompaniment only' version now sounds so 'empty'! Just listening to Michael's masterpiece makes me think I should give up! RIP Michael. Your talent has brought so much pleasure to so many people and you will be missed dearly. Thank goodness for this youtube channel so that your skill and dedication can continue to be enjoyed by many.
